Description

In October 2021, we switched the HSM software from HPSS to StrongLink. The StrongLink system brought several valuable features such as file searches based on metadata. However, some basic features still do not work smoothly. Particularly, unfavorably structured tape access (recalls/retrievals) may slow down all tape activities causing delays for all users. In this Tech Talk Daniel will focus on searching and retrieving data from the HSM. In particular, he will present tools to optimize the tape access in order to prevent the system from slowing down. There will be sufficient time to ask general questions on StrongLink after the presentation.
