Art Meets Climate Science and High-Performance Computing

Join us for an event exploring the intersection of art, science, and high-performance computing!

Starting out from climate simulations at DKRZ with their vast code and data repositories, artists, researchers, and developers will share their experiences of working across disciplines and present innovative approaches to collaboration between creative practice and scientific computing. The morning will feature breakout workshops, followed by a podium discussion in the afternoon.

The programme features contributions from Tomás Andrade Weber (Creative Intelligence Lab, Barcelona Supercomputing Center), Călin Segal (Computational Artist), and Silvina Caino-Lores (Inria Centre at the University of Rennes).

Welcome and Keynote

First, Prof. Thomas Ludwig will welcome the participants give a brief overview of background and schedule of the event. In the following keynote talk, Silvina Caino-Lores (Centre Inria de l’Université de Rennes - KerData Team) will share her experience in the Art of HPC program at the Supercomputing conference, reflecting on what they observed and learned while bringing together art and science. The discussion will highlight the opportunities, challenges, and insights that emerged from creating connections between these two fields in the context of high-performance computing.
